Another exciting week of football for Salthill Devon F.C.! Our teams delivered some outstanding performances, with representation at interleague level and great cup victories across multiple age groups. Let’s dive into the highlights:
Galway Town Teams Excel in EDP Interleague!
Both Galway Town teams played Mayo today in EDP, with both games ending in draws before Galway won both on penalties. John Behan, Sean Mulkerrins, Jack Conway and Jamie Holland represented Devon with distinction. Well done to all the lads!
U16 Girls Shine in Irish Cup 6-1 Victory Over Athenry!
Our U16 Girls secured a fantastic 6-1 win away to Athenry in the Irish Cup, earning their place in the draw for the last 16. Erin McCartan led the scoring with a hat-trick, while Amber O’Leary, Robyn Turner and Ava Costello also found the net. A brilliant team performance!
U14 Girls Cup Success Across Both Squads!
A really good week for all the U14 Girls squad. The Div 2 team progressed into the Quarter Final of the Div 1/2 Cup after a really super display against a well organized Knocknacarra FC on Thursday evening. #roadtodeacy
Today was the turn of the U14 Cup Team who are now into the last 16 of the Irish Cup after a really committed performance away to a really tricky St Francis (Athlone) outfit. Just so difficult to break down but we got there. Well done ALL of the crew.
Great win by the U14 Girls Div 2 team against Gort in the Division 1 & 2 Cup gets them into the semifinals. A great team performance, two goals by Teagan and one from Alice, along with a clean sheet, got them through in a game they had to work hard to win.
U12A Boys Secure Dominant Cup Victory Over Athenry!
U12A Boys had a dominant win away to Athenry today in the Prem 1/2 Cup. Oisin Conway led the scoring with a hat-trick, with Senan Tarmey and Ansou Villacastin also finding the net. A fantastic team performance!
Galway League U15s Reach National Semi-Finals!
Well done to Salthill lads Daniel Molloy, Aodhán Mac Giolla Rí, Finn McGuire and Keelan Keady who were part of the Galway League team which qualified for the national semi-finals, beating Clare 1-0. Aodhán captained the side brilliantly. Also part of the squad is teammate Hugh Flynn who unfortunately missed the game. A fantastic achievement for all involved!
