History was made today as the Irish Women’s team played their first competitive game at the Aviva where over 35,000 fans revelled in their 3-0 win over their Northern Ireland counterparts. Among that huge crowd were the Salthill Devon U12 Girls squads. Former club stars Meábh DeBúrca (52 caps) and Julie-Ann Russell (59 caps) received commemorative caps from the FAI. Great day all round – great credit to girls U12 head coach Rory Ginty who organised the day. Heather Paine also started for Ireland today.
