FAI Cup win in Limerick – Great weekend overall
Salthill Devon March on into the last eight of the FAI Junior cup and they beat defending champions Fairview Rangers on penalties in Limerick.
The u11’s also travelled to Limerick to support the ‘big boys’ and enjoyed two friendlies , also with Fairview.
Saturday, Matt and Shain Sutton’s under 15A’s had another great win in their Irish cup when they beat Shannon, also on penalties to also advance to the last eight.
This is a great achievement and a testimony to the squad development as they have coped with players moving to League of Ireland level seamlessly.
On Sunday afternoon the ladies senior team had a commanding win in Oughterard to remain at the top of their league and prime candidates for promotion to the Premier division.
This out first season back in adult football for a while and the whole squad are doing brilliantly. Also knocking in the goals was Mark Diskin’s U17B’s who won their League Cup Semi-final 5-1 and now look forward to a final in Eamon Deacy park
Meanwhile also on Sunday at Drom The Ireland u15 squad captained by our own Emily Fitzgerald played a full blown friendly with Galway WFC’s under 17’s, winning 1-0. Salthill Devon were delighted to host this game which was played to a very high standard.
Earlier they met with our U13’s in the clubhouse – it was a great experience for the Salthill Devon girls. They had a big win over Mervue on Sunday while Under13A Boys had a great win over Ballinasloe
